We are best know for our premium quality Wondermat® brand interlocking foam puzzles and mats; with primary markets in Japan and the United States, where we run our own distribution and retail operations.  Our primary manufacturing facilities are located in Taiwan, where we work with six long-term partner companies with hundreds of thousands of square feet of manufacturing space and hundreds of employees. 

"Free" Samples

We are considering charging a small fee for product samples that would be credited towards any purchase you make. We haven't started this yet, but we are seriously screening sample requests.  If you ordered samples recently, you may want to call or email us to tell us you are serious about receiving them. The toll-free number and Email address are at the bottom of this page. We've probably sent out over a million free samples since our site first went up in 1995, but now there are hundreds of sites that specialize in directing people to free samples offered by companies like us.  When these "something-for-nothing" sites get into an online frenzy, it's not uncommon for us to receive over 10,000 sample requests in a single month.  Our basic sample package cost us about $2.50 to send out, and we want our customers to have the samples for free, but spending $20,000 a month to send free samples to people who just want to get free cat toys is just crazy internet abuse, and seriously, we'd rather pass that money on to our actual customers by not raising prices to cover it. Any of your own ideas about dealing with this situation would be appreciated. 

NEWS: SOFT CARRYING BAG AVAILABLE

We have started carrying a nice bag with handles you can use to store, carry and ship your Wondermat products with.  Nylon construction with a zippered closure. Our version of these bags have stiff inserts at the bottom and wide sides of the bag to protect your mats from punctures when they are being moved around.

NEWS: SPORT SERIES MATS

Our 2-Foot, 1-inch thick Sport Series tiles are IN-STOCK and available. We've added Colors to the mix: Yellow for something bright, and Latte and Chocolate for a more subdued (non-daycare) look. That brings our available Sport Series colors up to NINE. We also added one more style of borders to the system, giving you the option of using either the standard, 90 degree cut borders, or the NEW sloping borders.

NEWS: DESIGNER SERIES PRINT FILM HAS BEEN IMPROVED

INTRODUCING THE BEST PRINTED FOAM MAT ON THE PLANET:
NEW PRINT FILM TYPE & THICKNESS, NEW PRINTING PROCESS AND NEW ADHESIVES!

We first introduced the concept of printed soft floor mats to this industry back in 1999 with a line of 12 and 18 Inch tiles using 3/8th inch thick foam. Because of problems with the original print film (from the toy industry), we spent years working on a better printing and bonding process, and in 1991 we introduced the line of printed 2-foot square, 5/8th inch thick tiles that have become the de facto mat standard in the trade show and exhibit industry. This year, after years of additional work, and more than a year of testing in the Japanese market, we are now releasing a new line of printed Designer Series tiles that will take this product out of convention centers and exhibit halls and bring it right into your home as the best soft floor solution on the market today. 

Our new Designer Series mats feature the highest quality print film ever put on a foam mat and new adhesives to bond the print film to the foam. But best of all, the printing is now on the back side of the film, where it never gets touched -- These mats will not loose their surface pattern - period! Besides being attractive, and solving problems in your home, these mats will retain their appearance for years of conventional use.  They are also the easiest to clean foam mats ever made -- The surface is slightly dimpled, but smooth and firm like any linoleum floor; and the print layer seals the foam so the foam will not adsorb dirt and odors like conventional mats (even our own).  And last but not least, soft flooring no longer means you have to make your home look like a daycare center.

NEWS: CARPET SERIES MATS BEING RE-INTRODUCED

We were probably the first US based company to ever sell foam-backed interlocking carpet tiles, starting in 1993. At that time, we had six colors of 1-foot tiles, and were the first to add a border system in 1995. We actually sold a lot of these tiles, but we had so many problems with the adhesive between the foam and the carpet, that we stopped feeling good about the product and stopped selling them in 1998.  There have been some improvements in adhesives over the last 5 years that have had the potential to make the product viable, but most of the new products are failing in the marketplace for a variety of reasons.  Even the big-box home center retailers aren't selling much volume of what is out there. So after two years of closely watching the industry, and 10 years of being away, we are about to bring a new kind of carpet tile the market.

What has traditionally passed for a carpet tile is a 1 or 2-foot tiles, 6mm of foam and 3mm of loosely woven, or non-woven spun polyester carpet that passed as a 7/16th inch thick tile. Then a few years ago, an unnamed company introduced a line of 2-foot carpet tiles that had 7mm of foam and 7mm of non-woven spun polyester carpet, which made the tiles thicker (1/2 inch) and more appropriate as anti-fatigue matting. These tiles were modified by another customer to include a series of many holes to allow for quicker draining and drying in wet area applications.  And that is about where the carpeted foam mat business has been stalled for about the last 3 years -- There, but not doing anything.

Our approach is going to be somewhat different, as usual. First, we aren't going to just slap any carpet on top of our premium quality Wondermat foam - we have hooked up with the largest carpet manufacturer in Taiwan. Very serious folks who not only helped birth the foam backed carpet business in 1993, but a company that does A LOT of carpeting for the worlds automobile makers.  The next change we are bringing is that we are going for comfort first and foremost.  We will be using 12mm of foam instead of 7mm for added cushioning, and we will only use a 2mm thick carpeted top, but instead of loosely woven, we will be going up to weaves as tight as 620 fibers per inch.  And it won't be solid, plain colors either.  There will actually be patterns woven into the surface so it looks nice.

NEWS: MADE TO ORDER PROGRAM GOING PUBLIC

Our Made-to-Order program is designed to provide fantastic discounts for customers that are advance-ordering their large or custom mat orders, and can wait 6 to 8 weeks for delivery; but more importantly, it will give ALL our customers more mat options, and open the full range of our products and production capabilities to a wider range of customers.    The fact is, the products that we represent here under the Wondermat^® brand name represent a relatively small portion of our overall foam mat product capabilities, and just a tiny fraction of the total range of products that we have been involved in or actually manufacture on a regular basis.

  For example, if you are opening a girls kickboxing gym and want PINK 1-Meter, 1-Inch thick mats to beat each other up on, we want to give you a way to get it.  We may not stock it, but guess what?  We make pink foam every day, and we have the tooling to make 1-inch thick, 1-Meter tiles.
